To be a youthleader within UVyouth you MUST be:

• A follower of Jesus
• Enthusiastic
• Encouraging
• Positive
• Servant hearted

We expect our youthleaders, whether paid staff or volunteers, to behave with the utmost professionalism and respect towards young people at all times.

It’s a rewarding and fun role, with a diverse range of opportunities to engage in residential, social, recreational and spiritual  programmes with some wonderful (but sometimes challenging!) young people from a whole range of social backgrounds.

We try hard to fit each youth leader into an area in which they are gifted and provide opportunities for development and growth.

Please not that anyone working with our young people must undergo a full disclosure CRB check, submit references as to their character and, preferably, be known to us for a significant amount of time. They must also be aware of and strictly adhere to the code of conduct within our child protection policy.

Our team in UVyouth currently includes a full-time Youth Pastor, full-time Youth and children’s worker, gap year worker and a youth work administrator, who work to facilitate a range of volunteers who work with our young people both within Upton Vale Baptist Church, in schools and in the local community.
